Angler opened on the Embarcadero waterfront of San Francisco on September 18, 2018, as the second restaurant from Saison Hospitality, following the success of Saison. Named Esquire’s Best New Restaurant of the Year, one of the Best Restaurant Openings by Food & Wine, and GQ’s Best New Restaurant of the Year, Angler serves a seafood-focused menu where every dish is touched by live fire in some way, with views of an expansive wood burning hearth and the San Francisco Bay.
Our dining room is at once grandiose and vibrant, with dramatic steel beams juxtaposed with native flowers surrounding our hearth. Our bar and lounge are intended for guests to gather before and after their meal - or just stop in for wine, cocktails and a quick bite. Our Game Room, an extension of our main dining room and our private events space for up to 50, evokes an elevated cabin with its rich textiles and private taxidermy collection.
Our expansive wine cellar reflects our passion for the classic wine regions of the world, with a particular emphasis on Burgundy as well as benchmark producers from our backyard in Napa and Sonoma.
Saison Hospitality Group was founded by Saison co-founder, SHG Wine Director, and Saison Winery winemaker Mark Bright, alongside serial entrepreneurs and restaurateurs Jag Kapoor and Gary Gauba. We are a Bay Area sustainable hospitality group dedicated to evolving in the world of food, wine, and hospitality, consisting of two Michelin-starred Saison, Michelin-starred Angler, Saison Cellar, Smokehouse, Saison Winery, and Saison Wine Bar.
